Katie McCarthy is a classically-trained cellist who currently serves as the Head of Adult Audiences at Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens in Washington, D.C. In this role, they plan and implement a diverse array of arts programs while collaborating with local artists and organizations. Katie has also worked as a Community Engagement Coordinator for the University of Maryland School of Music, focusing on creating accessible arts experiences, and has radio experience as a DJ at WMUC Radio. They teach cello to students of all ages and maintain an active performing career with various orchestras in the area. Katie is pursuing both a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance at the University of Maryland.
