Theresa Peterford, Ed.S. is an experienced special educator and charter organization leader with over 20 years of dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments for diverse student needs. Theresa began their career in 2002 with the Archdiocese of New York and became a key figure at Staten Island's first charter school in 2011, helping secure multiple charters and contributing to the growth of the organization to serve over 2,000 students, including more than 625 with disabilities. Currently, Theresa is the Director of Special Education at Staten Island Hebrew Public, while also pursuing a Master's degree in School Leadership at St. John's University and an Education Specialist degree at Rutgers University. Throughout their career, Theresa has demonstrated a commitment to cultural growth, collaboration, and authentic relationship-building.
