Chris Johnson is the Chief Scientific Advisor at the UK Department of Science, Innovation and Technology in London and serves as a Professor at Queen’s University, Belfast. Previously, they were a Non-Executive Director at the Health and Safety Executive and contributed to the UK National Cyber Advisory Board from 2021 to 2024. With extensive academic experience, Chris held positions as a Lecturer and later as a Professor of Computing Science at the University of York and the University of Glasgow. They have also acted as an expert witness for the Grenfell Tower public inquiry, focusing on improving emergency response through lessons learned from past failures.
