Erin Bates is currently the Head of Community Partnerships, Funding and Events at Hamilton City Council, where they lead a team focused on community-driven initiatives and strategies. With 19 years of experience in various roles, including District Manager at Thames-Coromandel District Council and Placemaking and Engagement Lead at Matamata-Piako District Council, Erin has demonstrated expertise in policy development, community engagement, and governance. They are also the founder of the Waikato Placemaking Collective, fostering collaboration among placemakers across the region. Erin holds a Bachelor of Education from Auckland College of Education and is pursuing a NZ Certificate in Business.
