Joris van der Aart is an experienced Data Protection Officer who has been serving at Schadefonds Geweldsmisdrijven since April 2007. In this role, Joris van der Aart provides independent oversight on the handling of personal data and advises organizations on privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). Additionally, Joris van der Aart has held similar Data Protection Officer roles for the Dutch National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children, Halt, and Onderzoeksraad voor Veiligheid since November 2018, and previously for the Raad voor Strafrechtstoepassing en Jeugdbescherming until May 2019. Joris van der Aart holds a Master's degree in Dutch Law, specializing in European Law and Economic Law, from Utrecht University, completed in 2006, and a VWO diploma from St. Vituscollege, Bussum, awarded in 1997.
