Andrew Gross is a seasoned bioinformatics professional with extensive experience in algorithm and software development for genomic assays. Currently serving as a Sr Staff Bioinformatics Scientist at Guardant Health since September 2022, Andrew previously held roles at Invitae as a Bioinformatics Algorithm Engineer, specializing in copy-number and structural variant calling, and at Illumina as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist, where contributions included tool development and analysis of whole genome sequencing data. Andrew's early experience includes a PhD researcher role at UC San Diego focused on cancer cohort studies and a bioinformatics internship at Sigma-Aldrich. Andrew earned a PhD in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from UC San Diego and a BS in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
