Elaine Smith is a Senior Principal Scientist at GlaxoSmithKline, where they have worked since 2011, contributing as an Investigator and Senior Particle Scientist. Previously, they held a role as a Visiting Research Scientist at DuPont from 2000 to 2002, and they served as a Research Project Officer at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation from 2004 to 2005. Elaine earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, following a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Lancaster University. They also participated in an exchange program at the University of California, San Diego, during their undergraduate studies.
