Shabana Basij-Rasikh has a diverse background in leadership roles, including being the Co-Founder & President of SOLA, Country Chair at Global Dignity, Emerging Explorer at National Geographic, and Global Ambassador at Girl Rising. Shabana also founded and served as President of HELA, Inc, and was the Executive Director at Afghan Youth Initiative, Inc. Additionally, Shabana has experience as a National Gender Advisor and Senior Fellow at Middlebury College. Shabana holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford, a BA in International Studies from Middlebury College, and honorary doctorates from Cedar Crest College and SOAS University of London.
