Sandi McCoy is a senior director of Phase 4 Research in HIV Prevention at Gilead Sciences and a professor in residence of Epidemiology at UC Berkeley. With over 20 years as an infectious disease epidemiologist, they have focused on ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat, leading interdisciplinary research efforts and overseeing significant research grants exceeding $19.9 million. Prior to their current role at Gilead, Sandi held various academic positions at UC Berkeley, mentoring over 50 trainees while emphasizing innovative methodologies in public health. Their research includes the implementation of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in non-traditional settings across multiple countries.
