Sureka Asbury is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in financial services and academia. Currently serving as the Head of the Advanced Research and Insights Lab at Discovery Limited since January 2016, Sureka specializes in fund analytics and discretionary fund management services. Additionally, Sureka has been an academic supervisor for MBA candidates at GIBS Business School since 2017, focusing on financial inclusion and the utilization of informal systems for funding SMEs. As a co-founder of Volunteer Afrika, Sureka promotes the upskilling of non-profit organizations across various sectors, including education and health. Previous roles include editor at Reuters, where Sureka advanced to lead the Trading Africa initiative, and head of equity trading at Securities Africa. Sureka holds an MBA from GIBS, a CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing, and a BCompt in Accounting and Auditing.
