Shayla Barrera-Skibinski, EIT, is a Staff Geotechnical Engineer at Geosyntec, specializing in geologic hazard identification and mitigation. In their early career, Shayla supported environmental field assessments and pipeline geohazard assessments, with expertise in reviewing high-resolution LiDAR data, developing slope stability models, and conducting field assessments. Shayla completed a Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Geological Engineering and Geoscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they also contributed as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Social Media and Geology Assistant. Additionally, Shayla has participated in specialized training sessions at Virginia Tech and Texas A&M University.
