Furrer Thomas is currently the Leiter Departement Planung & Hochbau at Gemeinde Emmen, a position held since 2023. Previously, Furrer worked as Gemeindeplaner at Gemeinde Köniz from 2007 to 2012, and served as Stadtrat und Raumplaner for Stadt Rapperswil-Jona from 2013 to 2020.
