Vagelis Plevris is an accomplished academic and civil engineer with extensive experience in structural engineering and education. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Qatar University since January 2021 and a Professor at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University since April 2016, Plevris heads the Research Group in Structural Engineering, overseeing a team of ten members, including professors, associate professors, and PhD candidates. Plevris has also held roles as Chief Editor for "Computational Methods in Structural Engineering" at Frontiers and was previously an Assistant Professor in Earthquake Engineering in Greece, alongside significant practical experience in civil engineering focused on the analysis and design of structures. Plevris holds a PhD in Computational Mechanics and multiple degrees from the National Technical University of Athens, supplemented by an MBA and training in blockchain technologies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
