Asha Viswanathan

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Asha Viswanathan is an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Washington, expected to graduate in 2027. Currently, Asha serves as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Fred Hutch, focusing on diffusion-weighted MRI within the Quantitative Breast Imaging lab, and as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Bioanalytical Chemistry for Medicine and the Environment Lab at the University of Washington, applying open microfluidics to tissue engineering. Previous experience includes a role as a BioPath Intern at AGC Biologics, where Asha was involved in biologics production and proteomic analysis, and as a Young Women in Biology Ambassador, promoting events for young women in the field. Additional roles encompassed a Residential Advisor position at the University of Washington and lifeguarding at YMCA of Greater Seattle with certifications in CPR, AED, and Red Cross Lifeguarding. Asha also participated in the HIPRC INSIGHT High School Internship, focusing on pedestrian safety research.
