Andrew van der Lem is currently the Head of Faculty Defence Team, where they apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to address complex challenges within organizations. With extensive experience in the public sector, Andrew previously served in various leadership roles, including Director of Government and Public Affairs at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Managing Director at the British Business Bank. Their earlier career includes key positions such as Economist and Policy Advisor at the European Commission and First Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where they were instrumental in negotiating significant EU directives. Andrew holds a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Exeter and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and German from the University of Leeds.
