Nishani Umasuthan is a family doctor with a passion for enhancing community health and transforming healthcare access. Currently serving as a lecturer at the University of Toronto's Department of Family and Community Medicine, Nishani teaches medical students in the Family Medicine Longitudinal Experience program. With experience as an attending physician at Scarborough Health Network and Extendicare, Nishani specializes in complex continuing care and long-term care, leading multidisciplinary teams and improving service delivery. Nishani is pursuing an MBA to apply business principles to healthcare challenges and is committed to developing innovative solutions for significant healthcare issues.
