Mark Wallace currently serves as the DMS Lead Technical Engineer at the European Southern Observatory, a position held since February 2018, where responsibilities include overseeing the technical aspects of the ELT Dome and Main Structure Project and managing a multidisciplinary technical team. Prior to this role, Mark worked at CNC Design Pty. Ltd. from February 2010 to January 2018, initially as a Project Engineer and later as Engineering Manager, focusing on the electrical and software design of motion control systems along with project management tasks. Mark holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Computer Science (B.C.S.) degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Melbourne, completed in 2009, and received education at Townsville Grammar School from 2000 to 2004.
