Kayla Brown-Cestero has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Kayla began their career as the Deputy Director of Programs at Best Buddies International, where they worked from 2008 to 2010, creating opportunities for friendships and employment for people with disabilities. Kayla also volunteered and held leadership roles at Civitan International, helping to form several service clubs in Las Vegas.

Moving into the lighting industry, Kayla worked as a Specification Sales Representative at Philips Lightolier from 2010 to 2013, where they focused on lighting solutions that made a difference. Kayla then joined Pacific Lighting as a Specification Sales professional, providing personalized lighting design services and expertise in LED technology and industry standards.

Kayla further advanced their expertise as a Lighting Designer at FEA Consulting Engineers in 2015, where they managed a team of designers and drafters, and was responsible for client relations and project coordination. Kayla also worked as an Executive/Major Account Representative at LEDVANCE, and later as an Energy Projects Manager at Caesars Entertainment Corporation. At Caesars, they led lighting retrofit teams at casino properties across seven states, resulting in significant energy and cost savings. Kayla was also involved in writing lighting standards, managing contracts, and providing lighting-related support to the company.

Kayla's passion for entrepreneurship led their to co-found Inspire and Spark LLC, a venture they pursued alongside their other roles. Kayla currently holds the position of Project Manager at Energy Management Collaborative, where they manage projects related to energy management.

Kayla Brown-Cestero, CSLT, MIES has pursued their education diligently over the years. Kayla obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Northcentral University between 2020 and 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of University Studies degree in English and Communications from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, a journey that lasted from 2000 to 2008.

In February 2023, they obtained the Certified Apprentice Lighting Technician (CALT) and Certified Senior Lighting Technician (CSLT) certifications from NALMCO (National Association of Lighting Management Companies). Kayla further enhanced their skills and expertise by completing the Construction Safety and Health 10-Hour certification program offered by the OSHA Safety Training Institute in August 2022.
