Sam Willis is an accomplished engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in design and development. As a Founding Engineer at ElectricSQL since August 2023, Sam focuses on creating a reactive, real-time, offline-enabled sync layer for local-first applications using CRDTs. Previously, as Co-Founder, Director, and Lead Developer at Posterhaste.com since August 2012, Sam pioneered an online store for personalized typographic and illustrative wall art, enabling customers to view instant previews of their orders. Additionally, Sam worked as a Design Engineer at eg technology Ltd from August 2008 to April 2014, contributing to product design for biotech and consumer products through all stages of development. Earlier experience at eg technology Ltd included a role as Junior Design Engineer from July 2006 to March 2007, after which Sam was invited to return permanently following university studies. Sam holds a BA (Hons) in Industrial Design and Technology from Loughborough University, completed in 2008.
