Dr. Jones is an experienced health professions executive with expertise in operationalizing equity across healthcare policy, organizational strategy, health services research, and workforce development. Additional skills include public speaking, managing complex cross-functional projects, and training and development.
Her research interest includes translating evidence-based knowledge regarding the social determinants of health and health equity into the organizational, community, and system-level interventions that advance equitable outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Dr. Jones obtained her Ph.D. in Health Policy & Management through the University of Kansas Medical Center where she conducted research on unconscious bias in the healthcare professions which led to the development of evidence-based curriculum and training for clinicians and faculty. My research areas of interest include physician well-being, imposter syndrome among those underrepresented in medicine, racial and ethnic disparities in maternal and child health, workforce diversity issues, and federal and state policy issues. She also obtained her Master’s of Public Health through the University of West Florida where her fields of interest include Chronic Disease Epidemiology, Health Disparities, Community Health, and Health Education. Research interests include Minority and Women’s Health, especially in areas focusing on HIV/AIDS, Cancer, and HPV.
