Paul Smith has a long and varied work experience. Paul began their career in 2004 as an Analyst for Marshall Wace. In 2011, they moved to Glencore as Head of Strategy. In 2013, they were appointed Non Executive Director of Lonmin Plc. In 2016, they became Non Executive Director of Glencore Agriculture Ltd. In 2019, they were appointed Chief Financial Officer of Katanga Mining Ltd. In 2020, they founded and became Managing Partner of Collingwood Capital Partners AG. In 2021, they were appointed Non Executive Director of Echion Technologies and Non Executive Director of Seadrill. Paul currently serves as Managing Partner of Voltaire Minerals Partners.

Paul Smith obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Modern Theirtory from the University of Oxford between 1989 and 1992.
