e3 Civic High is a free public charter high school serving grades 9 thru 12 located in the landmark 400,000 square foot downtown San Diego Public Library. The three "e's" represent and drive our mission to Engage, Educate, and Empower.
 
The Charter Petition for e³ Civic High was submitted to and authorized by San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) in September of 2010. e3 opened in the fall of 2013 with an entering class of 265 ninth and tenth-grade students. Currently, approximately 400 students are enrolled in our school. e3 celebrates a diverse population of scholars who come from over 35 zip codes.
 
The unique partnership between e3 Civic High, the San Diego Public Library, the City of San Diego, and SDUSD has created a new mixed-use design model for urban public schools and community-based organizations.

Executive Leadership

The Learning Facilitators team at e3 Civic High provides specialized instruction across various disciplines such as Math, English, Science, Social Science, PE, Art, Computer Science, and Spanish. By employing innovative teaching strategies and leveraging the unique resources afforded by the high school’s partnership with the San Diego Public Library, they aim to engage, educate, and empower a diverse student body. This team plays a crucial role in fostering academic success and personal growth among scholars from over 35 zip codes.

Learning Facilitators

The Education & Scholar Support team at e3 Civic High focuses on providing comprehensive academic and emotional support to students, ensuring their engagement, education, and empowerment. This diverse team includes deans, learning model coaches, instructional tutors, and counselors who collaboratively address special education needs, mental health, social-emotional learning, attendance, and overall scholar well-being to foster a thriving and inclusive learning environment.

Education & Scholar Support

The Administrative and Operational Support team at e3 Civic High manages essential administrative functions and ensures smooth daily operations. This includes human resources management, state reporting, board liaison duties, office clerical work, front desk services, enrollment processes, student information systems, and providing executive assistance to the CEO. The team plays a crucial role in maintaining an efficient, organized, and supportive environment for both staff and students.

Administrative and Operational Support

The Information Technology Team at e3 Civic High manages and supports the school's technological infrastructure to enhance educational activities. This includes maintaining hardware and software systems, ensuring secure and reliable internet access, providing technical assistance to staff and students, and implementing new technologies to support the school's innovative educational model. They collaborate closely with faculty and administrators to integrate technology into the curriculum and improve overall operational efficiency.

Information Technology Team

The Custodial Team at e3 Civic High plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment within the school's unique mixed-use design. Comprising the Lead Custodian, Lunch Custodian, and Night Custodian, this team is responsible for routine cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of the school facilities, including classrooms, common areas, and restrooms, ensuring hygiene standards are met throughout the school day and after hours. Their efforts support the school's mission to Engage, Educate, and Empower students by providing a spotless and orderly space for education.
