Dynamit Nobel Defence GmbH (DND) is a medium-sized technology company, mainly active in the field of defense technology. DND emerged as an independent GmbH from the Defence division of the former Dynamit Nobel AG. The company looks back on more than 60 years of successful development, qualification, production and service support of various explosive-based active and protective systems, priority for military and government applications. The portfolio has expanded considerably over the decades and today includes not only so-called shoulder-fired weapon systems but also holistic protection technologies for land platforms, fire protection for civil and military applications, test charges, environmental and qualification services as well as research and development in several fields of technology with both military and civil applications.

The company headquarters and the production plant are located in Burbach, in the industrial Siegerland region about 100 km north of Frankfurt. The factory site includes more than one square kilometer and houses 260 buildings and manufacturing complexes for the development, production and testing of high-tech products.
