Mehdi Samadi is a seasoned technology leader with a robust background in computer science and engineering. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Engineering for the Large Language Model (LLM) team at Duolingo since September 2023, Mehdi previously founded Intellipse, which was acquired by Mutiny. Prior to that, Mehdi co-founded Solvvy and served as its CTO until it was acquired by Zoom; Solvvy was established based on answer-questioning technologies developed during Mehdi's academic tenure at Carnegie Mellon University. Mehdi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Shiraz University.
