Monica Ekal, Ph.D., is a robotics engineer focused on addressing autonomy and sustainability challenges in space exploration. Currently, they work as a Research Scientist and Lead Software Engineer at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) on robotic mission software for the EROSS On-Orbit Servicing project. As a former Ph.D. candidate at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal, Monica conducted research on parametric uncertainty reduction for on-orbit operations, with experiments performed on NASA's Astrobee platform aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
