Matt Barkett

Senior Managing Director

As Chief Client Officer, Matt is responsible for managing the firm’s client relationships and ensuring superior client service is delivered each and every day. Matt also leads Dix & Eaton’s crisis communications practice and has played key roles in numerous high-impact crisis engagements since joining the firm in 2005. Matt’s broad-based experience in counseling clients involved in accidents, transactions, change management, CEO transitions and operational issues makes him a trusted resource during the most difficult chapters in an organization’s history.

In his nearly 30-year career, Matt has also worked as the top media relations officer for Denver-based Qwest Communications following its acquisition of U S WEST as well as Liberty Media Group, a cable television subsidiary of AT&T in Denver. In 2002, Matt moved back home to Cleveland to serve as the top communications officer for ICI Paints. He holds an MBA in marketing and a Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado.
