Steven Ackerman is currently a Solutions@State Instructor at the Foreign Service Institute, where they have been engaged since 2021. They have served as an Information Technical Manager at the U.S. Department of State since 1997, overseeing communications network systems for U.S. embassies worldwide. Prior to their time at the Department of State, Steven was a Signals Intelligence/Electronic Warfare Officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1980 to 1992 and worked as a Lead Product Specialist at IBM from 1993 to 1997. Steven earned a BA in History from the University of Colorado at Boulder between 1975 and 1979.
