James Castle is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community planning and development, currently serving as a Community Planning & Development Specialist at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development since September 2016. James owns Smoketown Publishing since January 2014, focusing on historical and genealogical research, along with digitizing documents and creating historical nonfiction and research papers. Previous roles include Project Manager at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, overseeing project progress and management, and various positions in the City of Brunswick and Town of Williamsport, including Development Review Coordinator and Town Clerk. James holds a high school diploma and a certificate in Business Management from Brunswick High School, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government at the University of Maryland Global Campus, alongside attending Hagerstown Community College for an Associate's degree.
