Stefan Aarninkhof serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences and is a Professor of Coastal Engineering at Delft University of Technology since June 2016. Aarninkhof has held significant roles including Director of EcoShape, a public-private partnership focused on Building with Nature, from July 2022 to June 2024. Aarninkhof also led the Hydraulic Engineering Department at TU Delft from January 2020 to December 2023 and was previously the Deputy General Manager and Program Manager at Boskalis, overseeing a 30 million euro innovation program. Early career experience includes roles at Delft Hydraulics and as a research assistant at Delft University of Technology, where Aarninkhof obtained a dr.ir. degree in Civil Engineering.
