Bruce Douglas is an experienced professional in rural development and partnership management, currently serving as Future Programme Lead in the RDPE Delivery Team at Defra since July 2011, where responsibility includes the development of the Rural Development Programme for the 2014-20 EU Programme period. Prior to this role, Bruce managed the Leader Programme in the South West and held various key positions with the South West of England RDA, focusing on significant rural development initiatives with a combined value of over £60 million. Bruce has also contributed to the establishment of the South West of England Regional Development Agency and held a Higher Executive Officer position at the Office of Science and Technology. An alumnus of the University of Oxford, Bruce holds a BA in Ancient and Modern History.
