Mark Lee

Senior Program Manager

Mark Lee has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mark started their career in the US Army in 1985, serving in various assignments until 2004. During their time in the army, they worked as a Field Artilleryman before receiving a Direct Commission as a Chemical Corps Officer.

After leaving the army, Mark joined the US Army as a Chief of Concepts and was later appointed as the Founder and COO (Battalion Commander) of the 110th Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort), where they directed WMD-Elimination Operations. Mark successfully developed, manned, trained, equipped, and deployed the first element of the battalion ahead of schedule.

Mark then worked as a Senior Multinational Branch Chief for the Counter Improvised Explosive Device program in Afghanistan. Mark led a multinational team in limiting IED proliferation and played a key role in the efforts to ban ammonium nitrate fertilizers in Afghanistan.

In 2011, Mark became the Strategic Plans Chief for US III Corps, where they led a team responsible for strategic planning and developed enterprise-level plans. Mark also collaborated with experts from multiple federal agencies to shape future US government policy and operations.

From 2012 to 2014, Mark served as the Chief Operating Officer/Commander for the US Army Environmental Command, overseeing four directorates and managing a $350 million yearly budget. Mark championed fair and appropriate decisions that saved the Army $180 million over 10 years.

Mark then joined the US Army at Joint Base San Antonio as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer/Operations Director, where they played a vital role in managing a workforce of 8,200 and delivering city management-focused program and project management.

In 2017, Mark worked for the company "Seeker of Opportunity" as a Finder of Unique Solutions before joining Dawson as a Senior Program Manager. In their current role, they help federal agencies define their problems and develop practical solutions in a variety of areas, including construction, environmental, munitions response, IT/cyber, and logistics services.

Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated strong leadership skills, the ability to handle challenging and complex projects, and a commitment to finding innovative solutions.

Mark Lee completed their high school education at Connersville High School from 1978 to 1981, where they received a HS Diploma in College Prep. Mark then enrolled at Wabash College from 1981 to 1985, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Chemistry. In 1999, Mark attended Webster University for a year, pursuing a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Resources and Information Management. In 2000, they furthered their education at the School Of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), where they obtained a Master's degree in Operational and Theater Planning. Mark's educational journey continued in 2010 with enrollment at the National War College, where they earned a Master's degree in National Security Strategy in 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Mark Lee has acquired several certifications. In 2017, they obtained a Six Sigma: Green Belt certification from LinkedIn and a Business Management Fundamentals certification from Syracuse University. In 2018, Mark obtained certifications in Capturing Federal Business, Managing Federal Proposals, and Writing Federal Proposals from Shipley Associates: We Help Companies Win Business.
