Leyre Villota Nieva is a Marine Consents Manager at The Crown Estate, bringing over 8 years of academic experience in marine biology. They hold a Ph.D. in Marine Molecular Ecology from Bangor University and a B.Sc. in Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth. Leyre's fieldwork spans diverse ecosystems, including the Poles and tropics, focusing on benthic impacts at multiple biological levels. Previously, they served as a Specialist Advisor in Benthic Ecology for Offshore Renewables at Natural Resources Wales and conducted research with the British Antarctic Survey, investigating oceanic warming effects in Antarctica.
