Stephen Parker serves as the Executive Director of the National Independent Venue Association since January 2023 and holds a dual role as a member of the CMA Board of Directors and Vice Chair of the CMA Foundation. Previously, Parker was the Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs at gener8tor and a Board Member for the Center for Music Ecosystems. Parker has extensive experience in public affairs, having directed Congressional and intergovernmental affairs for the National Governors Association, where responsibilities included advising governors on legislative implications and strategizing engagement with federal partners. Additional roles included advising the Virginia School Boards Association and serving as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Virginia National Guard. Parker's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Policy & Management from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History & Political Science from Longwood University.
