Chuck Protheroe has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Chuck worked at Corrosion Service Company Limited from 2017 to the present, initially as a Project Manager and later as a Projects & Engineering Senior Team Lead. Prior to that, they were a Robotics Educator at Science World British Columbia from 2016 to 2017. From 2013 to 2016, Chuck was a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the Molecular Biophysics Research Group, Concordia University. Chuck also worked at Plug-In Supply as a Product Development Technician from 2007 to 2013. Lastly, Chuck served as a Computer Lab Consultant and Research Assistant at Bishop's University from 2010 to 2012.

Chuck Protheroe completed their education in physics, earning a BSc degree with Honors in Physics and a minor in Mathematics from Bishop's University between 2009 and 2012. Chuck then pursued a master's degree in physics at Concordia University from 2013 to 2015, obtaining an MSc degree. In addition to their academic qualifications, Chuck Protheroe has also obtained various certifications, including the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (Boating) from Transport Canada in October 2017, Confined Space Training from Hazmasters Inc. in September 2017, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System) Core Training Certificate from Health Canada in November 2013, BioSafety and Laser Safety certifications from Concordia University in September 2013, and Occupation First Aid Level 1 certification from WorkSafeBC in August 2017.
