Julia Sebastien, Ed.M. is a graduate student researcher at Cornell University, focusing on prosocial behavior on social media, generative AI, and AI literacy at the Social Media Lab, and leading the development of VR experiences addressing human-computer interaction and accessibility at the Virtual Embodiment Lab. As a course instructor, Julia designed an accelerated course in communication, implementing innovative approaches to assessment and AI policy. As the co-founder of eMote, Julia contributes to emotional attunement through AI-generated art and journaling prompts. Previous experiences include roles as a consultant and UX researcher at Sona Systems, a research assistant at Harvard University, and a lab manager at Dr. Jennifer Steele's lab, among others. Julia holds a PhD in HCI, social cognition, and behavior in VR from Cornell University, a Master of Education from Harvard, and specialized honors in psychology from York University.
