Eliot Kapit is an Associate Professor at the Colorado School of Mines, where they also serve as the director of the interdisciplinary program in Quantum Engineering. Their research focuses on how quickly quantum computers can surpass classical machines for practical problems and explores alternatives to universal error correction. Previously, Eliot held postdoctoral positions at the University of Oxford and The City University of New York, and served as an Assistant Professor at Tulane University. They earned a PhD in Physics from Cornell University.
