Krista Shurtz serves as the Vice President of Natural Gas and Water Operations at City Utilities of Springfield, where they previously held roles as Supervisor of Rates, Project Engineer, and Director of Rates & Fuels from 2012 to 2018. Prior to this, Krista was a Project Engineer at Black & Veatch from 1999 to 2007 and completed a fellowship in Applied Health Physics Research at the U.S. Department of Energy from 1997 to 1999. Krista earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water and Wastewater Treatment from The University of Kansas and a Master of Science in Nuclear Environmental Engineering and Risk Assessment from Clemson University. They also studied Pre-Engineering at Southwest Baptist University.
