Matthew Richter serves as a Battalion Chief in the 4th Battalion on B-Shift within Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services, a position held since 2006. Prior to this, Matthew served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Military Police from 2000 to 2006, earning numerous awards including the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge. As a Fire Captain and Paramedic, Matthew has extensive experience in various operations, including truck and engine company operations, hazmat response, and fire training.
