Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) is the global leader in research and conservation of cheetahs and dedicated to saving the cheetah in the wild. Founded in 1990, CCF is an international non-profit organization headquartered in Namibia with a field base in Somaliland. CCF is the longest running and most successful cheetah conservation organization. 

The cheetah is Africa’s most endangered big cat. It is an iconic species, admired in nearly every culture as the very definition of speed. But unless we are willing to act quickly to save it, the cheetah could face extinction.

The vast majority of wild cheetahs are outside protected areas, in areas populated by humans. Saving this magnificent animal from extinction requires innovative conservation methods that address the welfare of both cheetah and human populations over large landscapes. The Conservation Team at the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) is dedicated to the preservation and recovery of the wild cheetah population through innovative, integrative methods. The team, consisting of roles such as Conservationists, Ecologists, and Research Technicians, executes on-ground fieldwork, ecological research, and community education programs. They collaborate closely with local and international partners to develop sustainable habitat conservation strategies, promote human-wildlife coexistence, and secure funding for critical conservation projects. Together, they aim to stabilize and enhance cheetah populations while ensuring the welfare of both cheetahs and human communities sharing the landscape.

The Veterinary and Animal Care team at Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) is responsible for the health and well-being of cheetahs and other animals in their care. The team conducts regular medical check-ups, administers treatments, and oversees the rehabilitation of injured or sick animals. They also engage in research to improve veterinary practices and collaborate on the development and implementation of conservation strategies to ensure the long-term survival of cheetahs in the wild.
