Kayla Moody is a Murrow-award winning journalist and the morning anchor at Spectrum News 1 Kentucky. Kayla returned to Louisville in 2019 after serving as an anchor and executive producer in Evansville, Indiana. Previously, Kayla worked at WHAS-TV in Louisville, where significant events such as Muhammad Ali’s death and the Whiskey Row fire were covered. Kayla began their career as a reporter at the ABC affiliate in Evansville shortly after graduating from Ball State University, earning acclaim for political coverage across three states. Their investigative report “Worthless Paper” received an Edward R. Murrow award, highlighting Kayla’s impactful contributions to journalism.
