Community Change, and its sister organization Community Change Action, work to build the power and capacity of low-income people, especially low-income people of color, to change the policies and institutions that impact their lives.

"Community Change” is both our name and a statement of our purpose. Our goal is to dramatically improve material conditions for people struggling to make ends meet in the United States, and we have a 15-year plan to do so. On the path ahead, our role is to fuse the power of organized people, bold ideas, and political clout — a three-dimensional power that we believe is the recipe for an economy and democracy where everyone can thrive.

The Economic Justice Team at Community Change focuses on advocating for and implementing policies that promote economic equity for low-income individuals, particularly low-income people of color. They organize community campaigns, coordinate grassroots movements, and work with political leaders to drive systemic changes aimed at reducing economic disparities and improving the financial well-being of marginalized communities.

The Directors team at Community Change is composed of leaders who oversee and strategize various critical areas of the organization, including public affairs, economic justice, integrated technology, strategic campaigns, policy, health equity, research, accounting, fundraising, and more. This team is responsible for steering the organization towards its mission of empowering low-income communities, especially communities of color, by developing and implementing policies, campaigns, and programs that aim to improve their material conditions and amplify their voices in the democratic process.

The Digital and Communications Team at Community Change spearheads efforts to amplify the organization’s mission and campaigns through strategic use of digital platforms and media outreach. They manage social media engagement, craft compelling narratives, produce digital content, and implement marketing automation to mobilize and inform supporters. This team ensures that the voices and stories of low-income communities, particularly those of color, are effectively communicated to influence public opinion and policy.

This team ensures efficient data management, enhances electoral and donor database systems, and integrates technology solutions to support the organization's mission of empowering low-income communities to influence policy and institutional changes.
