Marisa Hast, PhD, is an accomplished epidemiologist currently serving at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since July 2018, with roles in the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne and Environmental Disease, the Division of Global HIV & Tuberculosis, and as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. Marisa has been a Lieutenant Commander in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service since June 2019. Previous experiences include a PhD candidacy in Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from August 2013 to May 2018, various epidemiologist positions at the CDC from August 2010 to May 2013, and teaching and research assistance roles at Emory University and AID Atlanta. Marisa holds a PhD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins, an MPH in Global Epidemiology from Emory University, and a Sc.B. in Biology from Brown University.
