Ryan Alaniz, PhD, is a seasoned academic and professional with extensive experience in sociology and international development. Notable roles include serving as a World Social Science Fellow at the International Social Science Council and conducting dissertation research as a Fulbright Fellow in Honduras. Alaniz has held various teaching positions, currently as a Professor of Sociology at California Polytechnic State University, and has contributed to multiple organizations, including the United Nations University as a Project Research Associate, focusing on climate change issues. As Executive Director of The Futbol Project, responsibilities encompassed team management, fundraising, and community outreach. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Sociology from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in Latin American and Iberian Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
