Shannon Hayes

Senior Program Manager

Shannon Hayes is currently a Senior Program Manager at BUILD. Prior to their current position, Shannon worked as an Afterschool & Summer Learning Program Manager at IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, where they oversaw the design, development and implementation of curriculum for elementary school English Learners; recruited program participants; coordinated and delivered program events, and engaged with students, parents, school administrators, and community partners. Shannon has also worked as a Substitute Teacher at the Public Schools of Brookline, where they assumed teaching responsibilities for classroom teachers and paraprofessionals and provided 1:1 support for a student with autism spectrum disorder in academic instruction, social skills training, behavioral intervention and related services.

Shannon Hayes has a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University. Shannon also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Critical Social Thought from Mount Holyoke College. In addition, they are certified from Boston After School & Beyond as a Certified Observer, Assessment of Program Practices Tool (APT). Shannon is also certified by the Massachusetts Department of Education in Elementary Education (1-6) and has a Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement.
