Willow Lung, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Maryland, College Park, where they also serve as Director of Community Development at the National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education and Director of the Small Business Anti-Displacement Network. Since 2019, they have held the position of Director of the Urban Equity Collaborative. Willow's extensive research focuses on suburban poverty, racial segregation, immigration, gentrification, and redevelopment politics, with publications in prominent outlets such as The New York Times and National Public Radio. Additionally, they are a nonresident fellow at the Urban Institute’s Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center and the Brookings Institution’s Governance Studies program.
