Simone Zhang

Senior Computational Associate

Simone Zhang is a Senior Computational Associate and Bioinformatics Engineer at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard since July 2021, with prior experience as a Research Assistant at the Neurogenomics Lab at Carnegie Mellon University, where pipelines were developed in Python and R for genomic analysis related to vocal learning and COVID-19 susceptibility. Simone worked at the Auditory Lab at Carnegie Mellon University, where experiment design and data analysis were conducted on audio-visual synchrony, and also interned at Nevro, focusing on computational analysis of neural signals and patient data. An undergraduate research assistant role in the Luo Lab at the McGovern Institute at Peking University involved EEG experiments with children. Simone holds a Master of Science in Computational Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Computational Neuroscience with a minor in Sound Design, both from Carnegie Mellon University.
