Matt Shu is a Machine Learning Engineer at Brain Co. since June 2025, with a rich background in machine learning and data science shaped by roles at top institutions. Previously, Shu served as a researcher at Yale University, conducting impactful studies on the effects of AI-generated summaries on learning, while also contributing to the development of a machine learning flashcard app. Prior experience includes internships at Uber, where improvements in recommendation systems and image-text fusion models were achieved, and research at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on user studies in programming tools. As a co-founder of Technaplex, Matt developed several successful iOS apps and shaped educational content as a curriculum writer at Montgomery Blair High School. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Statistics & Data Science from Yale University, alongside a focus on sociology.
