Joanna Palmowska, PhD, FRM, CFA, is a seasoned professional in model risk management currently serving as SVP, Principal, Model Governance at BNY. Since 2024, they have been responsible for ensuring model compliance and managing the model lifecycle. Previously, Joanna held various roles at BNY, including SVP, Principal, Model Risk Project Manager, and VP, Senior Specialist, Model Risk, where they led initiatives to enhance model validation processes and mitigate model risk. Joanna earned both a Master's degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics from the University of Wroclaw, where they studied from 2009 to 2018. They initially worked as an Analytics Specialist at Credit Suisse from 2014 to 2015.
