Mitja Čander is a Slovenian writer, essayist, editor, screenwriter and playwright. They published four independent books, wrote the script for 11 documentaries, and worked as a playwright on six drama performances, with 40 texts published in foreign literary magazines. They are the director, co-founder and editor of the Beletrina publishing house, a role they have held since 1996, and were named publisher of the year in 2019. Their past positions include literary critic at Večer (1993–2001), editor at RADIO-MARS (1992–1995), and programme director for MARIBOR 2012 European Capital of Culture (2010–2013). They are pursuing an Academic Bachelor's degree in comparative literature at the University of Ljubljana.
