Hans von Gortler is a seasoned information technology executive with extensive experience in the mining sector. Recently retired since June 2018, Hans served at Barrick Gold Corporation from March 2004, where roles included Director of IMT and Managing Director of Global IT Shared Services & Technology, overseeing a team of 30 professionals responsible for the IT operations supporting 10,000 users globally. Prior to Barrick, Hans held the position of Director of Information Technology at Newmont Mining Corporation from September 1987 to March 2004. Hans earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, between 1977 and 1983.
